I’m a big fan of Kobo Writing Life and teaming up with Walmart to launch a new Walmart ebook store is a good thing. The more readers are exposed to our books, the better.

Recently, Joni from Kobo Writing Life asked me if I’d be interested in writing a blog post for KWL about my author journey. What an honour. You can read the full post here.

This is definitely an exciting moment in my indie author career. I have a couple of wonderful reviews, and both are from the UK. Goes to show we never know where our readers will come from.

On the weekend of Feb 3-4, 2018, there were over 800 downloads of my permafree novella Broken Hearts on Amazon.com. What an awesome feeling that so many people decided to give it a try. If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, it’s FREE at all the online retailers like Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, ibooks, and others.
And please leave a review once you’ve read it. You’ll be helping other readers in their decision to give it try and I’ll be forever grateful.

I received the edited copy of my novel Beautiful Midnight from my editor EJ Clarke a couple weeks ago and I was blown away. First off, the Editorial & Theme review was incredible. He summarized (a sentence or two) each scene of each chapter. And then he pointed out sections that were good and others that could be improved. He also noticed a few unfinished subplots and made some suggestions on tidying those up.
Yeah, I was impressed.
And then I went though the line edit of my manuscript and I thought I had a fairly clean copy but he found plenty of typos and grammar errors. And he once again left comments when he read something he really liked, or if something contradicted something else, or if something didn’t quite fit.
EJ provided me with the best feedback I’ve ever received, and although I now have a bit of work to do, I know that if I can follow his suggestions that my novel will be that much better.
And in the end, that’s what my readers deserve.
So, Beautiful Midnight might not be ready as early in 2018 as I’d first planned, but I believe the delay will be worth it.
